New Hart-compatible electronic modules increase the functionality of Turck’s remote I/O system BL20
07/09 – March 19, 2009
The sensor, fieldbus, interface and connectivity specialist Turck extends its modular remote I/O system, BL20, with new analog electronic modules. The new two-channel input/output cards are Hart-compatible and thus allow users to establish a digital fieldbus communication based on pre-existing 4…20mA connections. Thanks to the new modules, users can easily link their analog field devices to the PLC and integrate them into a consistent asset management based on the FDT/DTM technology.
Expanding its remote I/O system with new analog I/O modules meets the definitive demand for efficient I/O solutions for non-explosive environments within the field of process automation. The new Hart modules allow the interference-free transmission of additional data from the field level via modulated digital signals – whether being used for the remote maintenance of valve gears, for logging temperature data or for the bidirectional communication between a PLC and actuators.
Supporting the FDT/DTM software, the new modules provide convenience with respect to field device diagnostics: Users no longer have to deal with incompatible devices drivers. Instead, they can rely on license-free software (e.g. PACTware) to visualize, manage and parameterize their field devices in a convenient yet functional way.
