Radar Sensors
Radar sensors are ideal for outdoor solutions because wind, rain or fog cannot affect them. The sensors can prevent collisions with vehicles, forklifts or other mobile machines, such as harbor cranes, regardless of external influences.
With the help of FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Waves) technology, radar sensors in the DR or LRS series, but also T30R, QT50R, Q120R or Q240R, reliably detect moving and stationary objects. The MR15-Q80 radar scanner also detects the exact position of objects using distance, angle and speed measurements, which can be used for localization or for radius- or application-specific signal space monitoring.
MR15-Q80 – Radar Sensor Captures Three-Dimensional Data
The MR15-Q80 3D radar sensor with IO-Link and J1939 interface is a cost-effective alternative to high-priced sensor technology (LIDAR and vision systems) and is ideal for use in mobile machines, port facilities or various intralogistics applications. The robust radar scanner detects the distance, position and movement of objects for collision avoidance or height control.
High range of up to 15 meters: large detection range within the freely definable detection angle of 120° horizontally and 100° vertically.
Easy commissioning through real-time visualization in Turck Automation Suite (TAS).
Freedom of choice: up to six warning zones and three signal areas can trigger the two freely assignable switching outputs.

DR - Reliable Distance Measurement under Harsh Environmental Conditions
The DR series radar sensors are used as a cost-effective alternative, especially in demanding outdoor applications where laser or ultrasonic sensors do not provide a satisfactory solution. An example can be the proximity monitoring and speed control of spreaders to containers to be gripped.

LRS Product Series — IO-Link Radar Sensors for Level Measurement
The IO-Link-compatible sensors in the LRS product series are equipped with extensive analysis functions and are used primarily in filling level applications in factory automation where optical or ultrasonic sensors cannot be used due to limited range or interference factors such as dust, wind or incidence of light. They conform to the IP67/69K protection class and are ideally suited as a cost-effective alternative for demanding filling level applications in tanks and silos.
